Eben Adams was a rational man,
who searched in his philosophy
to be whatever he wanted to be.
So he looked at life like Shakespeare did
Men and women, actors on a stage,
Each one playing many roles
within their days
When he awakened from his bed
he stepped onto the stage
and chose his role du jour.
Eben lived an improv Broadway script,
Excusability his aim.
If life is just theater. . . after all,
No one’s to blame.
Eben scripted the last act
of his life. When he called for the
Deux Ex Machina to descend
from the dark and dusty, upper stage
there was a stark surprise.
It was all Deux and no Machina
the day that Eben met his demise.
