Baghdad is a City of Bones

by

Baghdad is a city of bones
Bones that tell tales
Of the structures they stiffened
How they were brazed in the belly
How they bent in birth
How they were stripped bare
Exposed to the desert air
Arise, bones
Rattle, bones
Rage bones
Raise up a dust, bones
Baghdad is your stamping ground
Turn the sun to darkness
Let the story be told
Let all the world behold
The black truth on a black sky
That Baghdad is a city of bones
